English Tourism Week takes place from 18-27 March and is an annual celebration of English tourism to help raise awareness for the sector and its contribution to the UK economy.
This campaign from Visit England will be celebrating our diverse, exciting and vibrant tourism sector and showcasing its quality, range and value to its stakeholders.
In 2019 English tourism generated over £100 billion a year and supported 2.6 million jobs and is a major employer of school leavers and young people, plus an incubator for entrepreneurs and innovation. This year there will be a focus on staffing and recruitment to highlight the wealth of job opportunities that are currently available in tourism and hospitality.
This year's theme is ‘You’re Welcome’ to send the message that everyone working in tourism is ready and willing to welcome visitors back and is working hard to do so.
So what’s the benefit of getting involved for our DMOs:
- It provides an opportunity to engage with your local stakeholders to bring attention to tourism’s contribution in your area
- It helps to increase awareness of the value and quality of the English tourism offer within domestic and overseas visitor markets and encourage domestic travel
Visit England has made it really easy to get involved by providing a comprehensive toolkit of digital assets including branded imagery, templates, printable signs, logos and brand guidelines.
