Here at Simpleview we pride ourselves on our ability to maintain long-term relationships with our DMO clients, sometimes during challenging times.  That’s why we’re delighted with the decision by all five of our destinations in Devon to commit to renewing their contracts with us as they forge on with the development of their destination marketing strategies to boost their competitiveness and attract new and repeat visitors.

Launched in 2016, the Visit Devon county-wide site was a major investment for the DMO, complementing the individual destination sites for Plymouth, South Devon, Exeter and the English Riviera. By maximising the commercial opportunities on offer from Simpleview, Visit Devon succeeded in doubling its revenue and boosting its traffic by 50% in just two years! The site has since been extended to include microsites for North Devon, Sidmouth and more recently a Visit Devon trade site

Simon Fishwick of Visit Devon CIC comments: "Visit Devon is delighted to have signed a 3 year contract with Simpleview, a decision made easier by the high level of service Simpleview has provided since our inception in 2016. The length of the contract gives us much needed continuity as we recover from the effects of the pandemic and will enable us to continue to further develop our website in partnership with Simpleview."

Plymouth, ‘Britain’s Ocean City’ has a fine heritage pedigree, unrivalled natural assets and a thriving and vibrant culture scene.  Simpleview created a new site for the destination in 2016 as part of its strategy to develop Plymouth into a leading visitor destination and maximise the potential of the 400 year anniversary of the Mayflower sailing in 2020. Last year the site was enhanced to feature a new video header to showcase the destination's spectacular waterfront and coastal scenery, as well as improving its online booking integration to encourage more visitors to pre-book before they arrive.

A new conference site was launched in 2017 to put the city firmly on the map as a top events destination.

Simpleview has been working with Visit Exeter since 2007.  The current version of the site was launched in 2017 to incorporate the DMO’s new branding and position the city as the destination of choice by exploiting the promotion of its rich heritage and culture, high quality local food and drink, vibrant calendar of events and strong connection to the stunning surrounding Devonshire countryside.

The Visit South Devon site was launched in 2018 and is the fourth site to be developed by Simpleview for the destination.  The site, featuring images, film and interactive footage sets out to take visitors on a rich journey of discovery and boost the destination’s commercial capability at the same time.

And finally, the English Riviera has renewed its contract and committed to the development of a brand new all singing, all dancing website which will be launched at the turn of the year. The site will include a host of complementary technologies to maximise its post-COVID recovery potential.

Richard Veal, Managing Director at Simpleview Europe comments: "We are delighted to have renewed contracts with all of these long standing clients. We originally began working with the Devon DMOs back in the mid-2000s when the South West Tourist Board implemented the (then) New Mind DMS across the whole region. Obviously a lot has changed since then in terms of technology, social media, visitor behaviour etc. but Simpleview has continued to evolve, invest and grow, along with our clients and their ambitions. We look forward to working closely with all the Devon DMOs over the coming years and are confident that together we can play a key role in driving even greater success for the sub-region and its tourism economy."
