Simpleview Secures Major Project with New DMO for Bristol and Bath, Visit West

Simpleview has won a major contract to develop three sites for the newly formed DMO for Bristol and Bath, Visit West.

The new Visit West DMO establishes a significant industry presence offering a region-wide approach to business support, membership, travel trade and development, while retaining and maximising the strong consumer brands of Visit Bath and Visit Bristol.  The new Bristol and Bath Convention Bureau had been launched in February at a ‘Meet England’ virtual round table.

Through economies of scale and reduction in duplication, combining the two DMOs provides better value for money and greater efficiency of operation.

Across the Bath and Bristol area, the tourism sector employs 45,000 people, 8% of the workforce, and contributes more than £2.33 billion to the economy.

The main Visit West corporate website will consolidate the range of services available to businesses in the tourism sector, to give the region one strong voice under the new Visit West brand but the destinations’ tourism sites will retain the distinctive Visit Bath and Visit Bristol brand identities.

The project also includes the development of a new Conferences microsite for Meet Bristol & Bath, building on the success of the existing Meet Bristol Convention Bureau.  The new regional convention bureau will help aid recovery, targeting business events that have a positive economic impact.

The site will be aimed at a global audience, focusing on developing association, corporate and incentive travel business and building relationships with event planners and agents all over the world.

A microsite for Bristol and Bath’s travel trade is also in development.  A range of resources will be available, together with themes and inspiration to help the sector to recover once the current restrictions start to be eased.

All the sites will be developed using Simpleview’s Tourism Pro solution, offering great value for the client, plus access to all the powerful, feature-rich functionality that the platform is renowned for.  

Kathryn Davis, Director of Tourism of Visit West comments: "It was important that we created a virtual resource centre for our businesses to enable them to quickly find what they need, who to contact and access to information that benefits their business.  There is also a dedicated press centre for the media.  The whole team have been involved in developing content and it will definitely evolve as we develop."
