The Momentum Continues for Major Project Rollout in Northern Ireland

Three new regional websites for Northern Ireland launched this month with the help of Simpleview.

The sites form part of a major national project involving the development of the main Discover Northern Ireland site, a series of regional destination sites and the implementation of a host of complementary technology including the MailMinder email marketing solution, CrowdRiff for UGC and touchscreen kiosks to allow visitors to plan in-destination.

The three regional sites inherit the design and functionality of the main Discover Northern Ireland destination site, featuring wide, dramatic imagery to reflect the destinations’ stunning landscapes, sophisticated functionality and a clean and contemporary look and feel.

Fermanagh Lakelands is one of the world’s most stunning waterways, offering a host of water activities including boating, kayaking, canoeing and angling.

Simpleview’s new site features a wealth of visitor attractions including the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark located in the mountainous uplands, plus spectacular forests, great for walking and cycling, and ancient castles and historic trails.  The area is positioned as a culinary destination with a fantastic selection of restaurants and pubs selling local produce dotted across the destination’s stunning landscapes.

From Bronze Age archaeology to blindfold driving, Simpleview’s new site for Mid Ulster invites visitors to ‘take time to unwind, your way!’

The site promotes the array of activities and natural and archaeological riches on offer in Mid Ulster’s unspoilt landscapes.  The magnificent Sperrin Mountains, Ireland’s largest mountain range, occupy a prominent position on the site, with 40 miles of walking routes and the ancient woodlands of their foothills offering perfect terrain for walking, cycling and more outdoor activities.

For a visitor experience that is literally ‘out of this world’, visitors can explore outer space from OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory, the world’s 78th International Dark Sky Park (and Northern Ireland’s first) and see the stars, planets, galaxies and everything else in the unspoilt night sky.

Some of Northern Irelands top attractions can be found in Ards & North Down so there’s a wealth of visitor resources to promote on this great new site.

A combination of landscapes and seascapes, with 115 miles of scenic coastline to keep visitors busy, is represented on the new site, not to mention the destination’s award-winning local food and drink, arts, culture and heritage and a host of creative makers.

Only 30 minutes from Belfast’s urban attractions is Strangford Lough, the UK’s largest sea lough (and designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), and one of only three Marine Nature Reserves in the UK.

The three sites are built on the ‘estates’ concept within the national Destination Management System, providing economies of scale for the national tourism economy and enabling each local partner to have access to the advanced functionality of Simpleview’s technology platform, whilst also sharing data as required with each other and Tourism Northern Ireland.
