Simpleview's Events Programme is Back on Track

Categories: Our News

Simpleview’s events programme has restarted with a bang, with a series of in-person, hybrid and virtual events already attended and lined up for the coming months.  A lot has changed but we recognise the importance of events and their role in keeping us all up to date with the latest industry trends and developments so we’re keen to do our bit to support the industry where we can.

Check out what the team has been up to and where you can catch us if you’re in the vicinity…

TMI Annual Convention:  19 - 20 October 2021

The Tourism Management Institute’s (TMI) in-person event this year has the theme ‘Towards Sustainable Destinations’ and will be held in the UK City of Culture at the University of Coventry’s Technology Park.  Simpleview is proud to be headline sponsor again too!

Industry experts and professionals will gather for an insightful post-lockdown convention to discuss the future landscape for tourism businesses, with a focus on sustainability and the journey to being Carbon Neutral, especially as the world prepares for COP26, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in October/November.

Coventry University Technology Park is a nucleus of innovation and entrepreneurial activity and is located within easy walking distance of Coventry railway station, which is less than 12 minutes from Birmingham International station.  It’s also accessible by car via the extensive Midlands motorway network so we hope you’ll call in and catch up with the Simpleview team.

You can check out the full event programme and list of guest speakers at the TMI website and more information on the speakers will be released in the coming weeks.  Booking is being facilitated by Tourism South East this year, so visit their site to book.

ICCA Congress Hub (Paris):  24 – 27 October 2021

This event is part of an event in Columbia with live linkups to presentations from keynote speakers and plenary sessions in Cartagena, the host city, plus an exciting educational programme and networking and social events.

The event is a must attend for anyone in the meetings industry so check out the official site and register if you haven't already.

City Nation Place Global: 3 - 4 November 2021

Place brand and marketing leaders meet at this global event to get inspired and learn more from one another.  A face to face event will be held in London but presentations and panel discussions will also be live streamed for those who are not able to attend.  Go to the City Nation Place website to find out more about the agenda and speakers.

And we've already attended a few others too:

The Meeting Show, London was a hybrid event, running from the 30th September to 1st October.  Director of Business Development at Simpleview, Caroline Dawson had the opportunity to attend a range of 60 sessions over 40 hours covering subjects such as sustainability, virtual platforms, diversity and wellness.

On the 23rd and 24th September the ECM Online Autumn Meeting took place, with Simpleview sponsoring and our very own David Peacock, Senior Adviser of the Future Tourism Group presenting on the subject of ‘The Destination and Host City As Content’. David explained how destinations need to make the most of their digital encounters with potential visitors and either collaborate or compete with the other digital content out there.

On the 9th and 10th September the Simpleview team attended the ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter’s Annual Conference in Hull.  Delegates had the opportunity to find out more about how equality, diversity and inclusion impact on the meetings industry and how they use it in their daily lives as meetings professionals.  Attendees were also encouraged to take a lead on the adoption of sustainable practices in their organisations and make everyone responsible for the future of the events industry.

We'll be keeping our clients and partners up to date as we add more events to our busy schedule for 2021 and beyond...
