A new website for the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is a major part of a brand building and recovery strategy, positioning the area as one of the best places in the south of the UK for a rural holiday.
A new destination for Simpleview, the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley spans the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire and forms the gateway to South Wales on the English border.
The tourism offer is built around historic borderlands castles, wild rivers and ancient forests. The stunning valleys and landscapes create breath-taking backdrops, with miles of pathways to walk, cycle or canoe. It is already a well-known walking and cycling destination, with a significant offer for families, a high number of quality self-catering accommodation options and an abundance of unique local food.
In line with current national trends, the site will target domestic staying visitors and day visitors from within a one-hour drive time. There will be a focus on capitalising on the stunning autumn colour, and many of its remote, natural, outdoor assets during the early stages of recovery, with a PR and digital campaign being used to complement the launch of the new site.
A contemporary, bespoke design will be adopted, featuring authentic imagery which is consistent with destination’s appeal to visitors looking for adrenalin fuelled or mindful, calm pursuits.
Sarah Orchard, Director of Dean Wye Tourism said "We are delighted to be working with Simpleview. We hope that their expertise will help us to inspire visitors as well as creating an intuitive, functional website to support our 300+ members. The time has never been better to showcase the unique outdoor experience our area offers."
We look forward to launching the new site in the Autumn.
