Simpleview has commenced the rollout of a major project, ready to entice visitors to experience the re-energising and reinvigorating powers of Eastbourne, officially the UK’s sunniest place, when the restrictions are relaxed.

Eastbourne is a seaside resort, located in East Sussex on the South coast of England, with a colourful arts scene, thriving events programme and bucket loads of things to do.  Eastbourne is the gateway to the South Downs National Park, a spectacular coastline which includes marine conservation areas and sites of specific scientific interest. The destination’s main event is its award winning, international airshow with live online footage being viewed all over the World.

Visit Eastbourne has opted for Simpleview’s Tourism Pro solution which delivers all the rich functionality and features that the destination and its visitors will need. The project includes the development of the main tourism site, www.visiteastbourne.com, two channel sites for the Eastbourne Airshow and Conference Eastbourne, plus 5 events themed sites for Heritage Eastbourne, Magnificent Motors, Eastbourne Beer Festivals, Beach Life Festival and Beachy Head Marathon.  Two further sites for the Eastbourne Hospitality Association and the Walking Festival are also currently in development and are expected to be launched shortly.

The project is the result of a working partnership between Eastbourne Borough Council’s ‘VisitEastbourne’ brand and the Eastbourne Hospitality Association (EHA), a membership organisation for the resorts’ tourism businesses.  The EHA has part-funded the development of the new sites as part of an investment into the destination’s digital infrastructure for the benefit of its members.

Increasing online bookings and encouraging visitors to ‘book local’ on www.visiteastbourne.com or direct with the destination’s accommodation providers are key objectives in order to reduce commission payments. This strategy will enable Eastbourne’s businesses to retain more revenue to reinvest and enable its small business owners to generate a sufficient income to protect the future of the local industry.

The project includes French and German language versions, integration of Simpleview’s popular MailMinder email marketing solution and the inclusion of a wealth of rich content such as YouTube videos, blogs and Tourism for All product data and search facilities.
