New Visit East Yorkshire Site Delivers an Immersive Experience

Categories: Our News

Simpleview’s newly launched new website for East Yorkshire,, transports visitors to a place where they can ‘breathe easy and find themselves again’, the perfect antidote to the turbulent times we’re all living in.

Visit East Yorkshire’s primary objectives were to deliver a world-class destination website to raise the area’s profile and grow the local economy to £1billion by 2024 by presenting more reasons to visit, stay longer and spend more money within the local economy.

Visitors are invited to explore the attractions and things to do within the destination’s key visitor brands of Beverley, Bridlington and the Yorkshire Wolds.  For the uninitiated, Beverley is a market town with a towering gothic minster, pretty market squares and beautiful Georgian townhouses.  Bridlington is located on the coast and is the ideal destination for those looking for the great British seaside holiday.  The Yorkshire Wolds is an area of gentle rolling hills and breath-taking landscapes, extending south from the East Yorkshire Coast to the shadow of the Humber Bridge, perfect for exploring on foot, by pedal-power or horseback.  The beauty of the Yorkshire Wolds has been an inspiration to one of the greatest living artists, David Hockney, not to mention many poets, writers, film makers, local artists and photographers over the years.

The design of the site is dominated by stunning video (with audio) and imagery, showcasing the area’s beauty and wealth of tourism potential.  Incorporated throughout are Visit East Yorkshire’s distinctive icons which aim to showcase the breadth of experiences available in the region.  The logo, colour palette, typographic style, iconography and use of imagery all combine to create a contemporary, rich brand style which aims to capture the diversity of the region’s tourism offer and bring it to life.

The team at Visit East Yorkshire has done a great job with the site’s blog which offers visitors of all interests a whole host of ideas and inspiration, whether they are thrill-seekers, foodies or simply looking for a place to take the kids on a rainy day.  The blog is complemented by user generated content from the DMO’s social media channels, plus commissioned blogs and contributions from local residents.

The site features an extensive walking and cycling resource with routes that can be refined to suit all interests and energy levels, with filters for type and location, as well as descriptions, facility information and maps.

Councillor Shaun Horton, portfolio holder for coastal regeneration and tourism at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "We are delighted that this new-look website has been launched as it showcases the fantastic potential the East Riding has for visitors new to the area and reminds our local residents of all these wonderful attractions and activities at their doorstep.  East Yorkshire is a great place to explore and experience for visitors of any age."
