Secure Your .UK Domain Name Before Somebody Else Does!
30th April 2019
Categories: Our News
After 1st July 2019 any reserved .uk domain names which have not been registered will be made available to anyone, and that includes competitor websites.
The new shorter, sharper domain name was introduced in June 2014. If you already own the .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, .plc.uk or .ltd.uk, the matching .uk domain name may have been reserved for you until 25th June 2019.
There’s a quick and easy way to check whether you already own the rights to a .uk domain name. Simply click on this link to be directed to Nominet’s Rights Lookup tool. You’ll also find some more information on how to secure a .uk domain name and some useful FAQs.
The cost to register the .uk domain for 1 yr is £30 +VAT per domain. If you would like us to register it for you on your behalf, simply complete this form. Don’t forget to include all of the domains that you would like us to purchase the .uk version for (including domains for sub sites and campaigns). If you don’t have the rights to register but would like the domain(s) please still complete the form and we will try to register it once it is freely available on the 1st July 2019.
Please note that when we register a domain on your behalf it will still be owned by you and we will just have the admin rights which will allow us to set it up.
Don't hesitate to contact your Account Manager if you have any queries too.
