Teams from New Mind | tellUs in Liverpool and Oslo, NVG and Simpleview gathered together for the Simpleview European Retreat on the 25th March.

Following the success of January’s Simpleview Retreat in Tuscon, Arizona the New Mind | tellUs team in Liverpool were the hosts for the UK event which, as you would expect, included visits to some of Liverpool’s most iconic tourism attractions.

The White Star Grand Hall at 30 James Street on Liverpool’s famous waterfront was a fitting backdrop for the main event, with its 15-foot Georgian windows, originally restored ceilings and beautiful chandeliers.  Now a Titanic-themed hotel, the Grade II listed building was White Star Line’s headquarters and all the rooms have been lovingly restored in a manner which is respectful to the vessel, passengers, crew and history.

A series of engaging and motivational presentations by CEO of Simpleview, Ryan George told the story of Simpleview’s evolution from its humble beginnings to where it is today, all surprisingly similar to New Mind’s early days, and laid out the strategic roadmap for the merged company’s future direction.  (If you've not seen it already, check out our original merger announcement where you will find more details regarding the benefits which we look forward to delivering to our clients.)

Next was the obligatory trip to the Beatles Story Museum where the team was able to take the immersive journey of four young lads from their humble beginnings in Liverpool to the dizzy heights of fame and fortune.  Dinner in the Carpathia champagne bar and restaurant back at 30 James Street followed, surrounded by White Star Line artefacts and stunning panoramic views of the city’s docklands and Liverpool’s beautiful World Heritage Site.  The venue takes its name from RMS Carpathia, the ship that rescued the Titanic’s 705 survivors.  The day culminated (for most) with a visit to Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club, regarded as the cradle of British pop music and birthplace of the Beatles.

Over the next two days the Account Managers, Software Solutions, Sales and Marketing teams had an opportunity to knowledge share and plan for the continued integration of the merged company’s products and services at a series of workshops.

Managing Director of New Mind | tellUs (UK), Richard Veal comments "We were delighted to host the retreat in Liverpool, a city that has been the birthplace of so much modern history. Although our original start-up New Mind is now 20 years old, this very much feels like a new beginning and we are very excited about moving forward as Simpleview Europe in the coming months."
