TMI's 2018 Spring Hot Topic will not only provide the team at New Mind | tellUs with an opportunity to meet up with our clients and partners but also promises to offer a productive, thought-provoking programme of presentations and workshops.
The one day event on Friday 18th May at the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge will be themed around a subject that many of our clients will be able to relate to, the challenge of funding destination management and destination activity, at national and local level. There will be presentations from several destinations who are following diverse but successful models of sustainable core funding, with the opportunity to learn from such practice.
The event will also feature speakers from funding organisations such as the Heritage Lottery Fund and examples of innovative funding packages for tourism project development. Woven between this key theme will be presentations on the subjects of developing a visitor economy 'off the beaten track' and the latest developments in the business tourism sector.
Our colleague, Colin Munro from Miconex will be presenting on the subject of how DMOs can drive in-destination spend with Gift Cards. Visit our Blog to find out more about how you can take advantage.
Friday has been selected so that delegates can extend their stay over into the weekend to enjoy the ancient atmosphere of one of the UK's finest medieval cities. A networking event is being planned for the Thursday evening with details to be announced soon.
Delegates that wish to arrive on 17th May can enjoy a free private walking and punt tour of Cambridge kindly hosted by New Mind | tellUs client, VisitCambridge. The tour starts at 4.30pm and finishes at 6pm. Numbers are limited to 24 so prior booking is essential. This will be followed by a networking BBQ supper at The Pint Shop.
