Tours & Banner Ads Go Hand-in-Hand for Fjord Norway

Fjord Norway's Tour Suggestions are proving to be a hit with visitors so it's only natural that the destination should capitalise on their popularity by introducing a new revenue stream in the form of banner ads.
The development of the Fjord Norway site was completed by New Mind | tellUs in 2016, forming part of a major project involving the creation of the regional site, 11 destination sites and 15 channel sites. The site's launch represented a significant milestone in the rollout of the New Mind | tellUs e-tourism solution across Scandinavia.
A key requirement for the site was to promote travelling in Fjord Norway as an attraction in its own right, whether by car, rail or ferry. The area boasts spectacular road trips and 10 Norwegian Scenic Routes, providing visitors with the opportunity to visit local villages, taste local food, hike in the mountains along the way or drive through the Lærdal tunnel, the longest in the world.
Since the launch of the site, the Tour Suggestions page has proved to be amongst the most popular. Visitors are able to search for their ideal tour by starting point, season, type of tour, duration and type of transportation (with or without car). To inspire the visitor, the Fjord Norway team has been busy creating a wealth of Tour Suggestions content for coastal expeditions, family adventures, romantic culinary trips and journeys in the footsteps of the Vikings to name a few.
The recent introduction of banner ads on individual tour pages now provides a further boost, with benefits for all concerned. Fjord Norway has established a new revenue stream, its tourism providers are able to elevate their exposure to their target markets and visitors are offered relevant information to complement their tour, whether it be mountain bike hire or cruise company suggestions.
