Visit Jotunheimen has opted for the Tourism Essentials web solution from New Mind | tellUs to fully exploit the tourism potential of this stunning destination.

Jotunheimen is an unspoilt area in Eastern Norway featuring approximately 3,500 km of breathtaking scenery including mountains, waterfalls, lakes, glaciers, rivers and valleys. According to Norwegian Author, Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, who spent much of his time in the area, the Giants (or Trolls) live in Jotunheimen.

Visitors to the area can explore three National Parks; Jotunheimen, Breheimen and Reinheimen. Jotunheimen is regarded as the King of Norway's National Parks (and most popular) boasting the country's two highest mountains, Galdhøpiggen (2,469 metres above sea level) and Glittertind (2,464 metres above sea level).

The new site from New Mind | tellUs will position Jotunheimen as a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, whether alpine or cross-country skiers, hikers, cyclists, glacier walkers, horseback riding or climbers. The area's strong culinary traditions will also be represented, with its fine local produce including sausages, cured meat, herbs, cheese and jam.

For Visit Jotunheimen the Tourism Essentials solution represents the ultimate in flexibility and affordability.  The destination has opted to add the Featured Items control to highlight the range of activities on offer and video will be used extensively throughout the site to bring the destination to life.

Mari Arnøygard Wedum of Visit Jotunheimen comments: "We are looking forward to presenting a user friendly, modern and up to date site to our customers. For Visit Jotunheimen, it is important to have a seamless information flow to Visit Norway and to present Lom and Jotunheimen in both Norwegian and English languages."

The team are aiming for a launch in May so watch this space...
