New Mind | tellUs Delivers First Arabic and Russian Sites

New Mind | tellUs has developed its first dedicated Arabic and Russian language visitor sites for the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAK TDA) as part of the organisation's ambitious plans to grow the destination's tourism economy by targeting a number of niche markets.
Ras Al Khaimah is the most northerly of the seven emirates which comprise the federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). New Mind | tellUs was contracted to create a suite of new websites for the destination, starting with an English version of its tourism site which was officially launched at World Travel Market London last November, a series of tourism sites in Arabic, Russian and German and a corporate site.
The development of any site incorporating a different character set is obviously a challenge, with the added complexities of the right to left language format posed by the Arabic version of the site. The sites also needed to be mobile friendly, accommodating icons and images which comply with the relevant cultures.
The award of the RAK TDA contract to New Mind | tellUs last year represented a significant milestone as the company's first project acquisition in the Middle East. The launch of the English version of the tourism site is already contributing to the destination's success, with an 11.3% increase in visitors being achieved during the first quarter, compared to the same period last year.
