Visit Southport is poised to welcome visitors from around the globe to its world-famous events and attractions following the redevelopment of its destination site by New Mind | tellUs.
Southport was the first of the company's clients to opt for a responsive site four years ago. Now the site has been redeveloped to incorporate the destination's new 'different every time' brand identity and enhance its design, content and usability.
The new site, www.visitsouthport.com, is image led to highlight the quality of Southport's tourism offering. The destination boasts 22 miles of expansive coastline surrounded by natural beauty making it a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. A new feature on the home page allows the visitor to check the travel time from several major cities too, including Liverpool and Manchester, emphasising Southport's ease of access and great transport links.
Ease of management from a content perspective was a key priority in the brief from the Visit Southport team, particularly for the event-driven content. The site acts as the primary promotional springboard for Southport's series of world-famous events. In July this year the 146th Open Championship returns to the Royal Birkdale golf course, followed by the ever-popular Southport Flower Show in August and the Air Show in September. A bold new social media section on the home page complements the site's rich page content to make sure that the visitor has every opportunity to access Southport's wealth of events and attractions.
The Air Show generates the majority of the site's traffic throughout the year so a dedicated channel site is being developed to capitalise on its popularity. New Mind | tellUs has a strong track record of helping Southport to achieve year on year increases in ticket sales for the Air Show via the implementation of a series of high performing pay-per-click campaigns and SEO techniques.
The site also features a channel site for its Conference offering and a thematic section for the Southport Festival in May.
Jo Dwyer of Visit Southport comments "With the 146th Open Championship returning to Southport this year it was important that we had a new website to reflect the new branding. The process from rebranding Southport as a destination to making the site live has been relatively quick and easy. Southport will have the eyes of the world upon it this July and our new website showcases what the destination has to offer."
