JOB SUMMARY: 

As a Content Specialist for the global leader in destination marketing, you’ll be responsible for producing a mix of internal and external communications. In addition, you’ll serve as a copy editor to the marketing team to ensure all writing is accurate, clear, and consistent with our brand platform and guidelines.  
 
You’re a skilled writer who can adapt process, style and voice for a variety of audiences across a wide range of digital and print projects. You’re also a team player - a large part of your work will be connecting with others across all levels within the company to source information and partner on final deliverables. Most importantly, you’re a communicator with a passion to inform, educate and inspire audiences with compelling content that’s timely, relevant and authentic. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Write and edit content to ensure that communications consistently reflect our brand platform, our voice and, when appropriate, our vision, mission and values. 
  • Plan, write and edit a wide range of internal & external communications, including periodic emails, ebooks, blog posts, presentations, etc. that align with the associated corporate campaign or message needing to be delivered. 
  • Creation of various collateral materials including brochures, case studies, and white papers. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to mine, develop and publish relevant communication in a timely fashion. 
  • Create engaging social media content. 
  • Serve as copy editor and helpful, writerly friend to other team members 
  • Learn and help with other marketing roles as time and abilities allow - e.g., event marketing, business development, etc. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, or marketing 
  • Relevant internal communications and marketing communications experience beyond entry-level positions 
  • Experience with the travel, tourism and meetings industry 
  • Outstanding writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills 
  • A journalistic mindset and the ability to source information from others 
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism 
  • Deadline driven with strong time management skills 
  • A self-motivated self-starter with the calm confidence in regularly handling 10-15 projects in varying stages 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Drive software 
  • Ease of use with Windows and MacOS in a server-based, distributed office 
  • Last but not least, the need to be the ultimate team player

BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of web development, SEO/SEM and social media 
  • Skills in writing, design, illustration, photography, video or coding 
  • Experience with CMS, CRM and other digital marketing tools 
  • Knowledge of marketing data, statistics and analytics 
  • Experience planning and staging large-scale events 
  • Experience in public speaking and formal presentations
